900 🇨🇦🇬🇧 VS 8000 🇺🇸
Why is this battle barely discussed and I don’t even recall learning about it in ANY of the history class I took in highschool… I’m only 13 hours away from this HISTORICAL site and it’s quite a significant victory even though the battle was just that… ANOTHER battle.
I’d be lying if I said those numbers aren’t impressive!
Around 600-800 soldiers (both sides) lost their lives. Obviously, more on the US side – However, extremely sad nonetheless! At the end of the day and in the present world we are ALL brothers and sisters now.

• 900 Brits/UK/Canadians VS 8000 US Army Dragoon’s/Rangers/Patriots
• Morisburg, Ontario 1812 AD –Factoid: almost 1/3 of Southern Canada was once the SOME of Northern USAs Louisiana
Brigadier General John Boyd, Lord Covington, and JAMES WILKINSON all fought here
• Covington was mortally wounded here and died a few days later after being carried back to New York ⚰️
• James Wilkinson was the senior officer of the ENTIRE US Army and well known statesmen… He was present at this battle in CANADA and still they suffered defeat
• John Boyd was a successful business man and basically RULED the ports in Boston during his later career
This battle was an amazing and decisive display of attack and defend. An absolute marvel and great example of how ridiculous and folly SOME of the old “traditional” ‘RULES OF ENGAGEMENT’ were and how QUICKLY the face of war and society in general was changing…
Largely due to technology – But, also because people started to grow weary of war and being away from their loved ones IMO
The revolution and everything that came with it is truly something else.
